Joseph Sinagra (born
December 20 ,1946 ,New Brunswick, New Jersey ) is an American Republican Partypolitician , who was a 2006 congressional candidate for theUnited States House of Representatives inNew Jersey's 12th congressional district . Sinagra is the son of parents Ciro and Rose Sinagra. Sinagra is the oldest of four children, a brother Ciro ("deceased"), two sisters Mary and Julie. Sinagra lives in Helmetta,New Jersey with his wife, the former Patricia Genito, where their children Joe, Jeff ("deceased"), and Michele were raised.After serving in the
United States Air Force 1st Air Commando Wing (TAC) during theVietnam War era, Sinagra attendedMiddlesex County College andUnion County College forBusiness Management . He has owned several small businesses, and is employed asFacilities Manager forMiele Corporate Headquarters located inPrinceton, New Jersey and former CEO of My Plumber Inc.Sinagra held a seat on the Helmetta Planning Board, was Emergency Management Coordinator, and a Helmetta Councilman from 1989 to 1998 (serving on several committees), also as Council President for seven years. Sinagra ran for a seat in the
New Jersey General Assembly located inMiddlesex County, New Jersey , representing the 18th Legislative District, where both seats are held by incumbent Democrats. He ran uncontested in the 2007 election primaries. Facing 2-1 odds, Sinagra won 4 out of 7 towns in the General Election and was defeated by only a 6% margin, spending .75 per vote against the incumbents $20 per vote.References
