Cook, a 6'3"/1.91 m point guard played for four seasons (1976/77-1979/80) at the University of Portland, and was subsequently selected by the Detroit Pistons with 70th overall pick (1st in 4th round) in the 1980 NBA draft.
His NBA career lasted from 1980 to 1989, playing with the New Jersey Nets, Washington Bullets, Denver Nuggets, and San Antonio Spurs. In 1987 he signed a one-year contract with Scavolini Pesaro of the Italian basketball league before returning to the NBA for one more season split playing for the Nuggets and the Spurs. After his NBA career in, 1989, he again signed with Scavolini, this time for two years.[1]
