Route 66 is a very long-standing route. It commenced operation on
14 October 1925 between Leytonstone (Green Man) and Romford Station. Leytonstone has always remained the western terminus of the route, although the eastern terminus has varied over the years. Route 66 began operation as a double deck route from Romford (later Hornchurch) Bus garage, although between 1972 and 1976 the route was operated by single deck vehicles.Current route
