In 1998, he graduated with a degree in Political Science from the University of Wrocław.
He was elected to Sejm, the Polish legislature, on September 25, 2005, receiving 12,362 votes in 3 Wrocław district, running from the Prawo i Sprawiedliwość party list.
Prior to his election, he was a police investigator. His seven-year-old son and wife were attacked by a man while travelling by bus. When Mr. Dawid arrived at the scene, the attacker rushed to his son again. Mr. Dawid pushed him off, and the assailant fell on street and knocked his head on sidewalk. He died few days later in a hospital. Police found out later that the attacker was under the influence of alcohol at the time. The nature of this self-defense case was controversial in Polish media coverage. The investigation was closed.
In 2007, Mr. Dawid held office as the Secretary of State in the Ministry of the Treasury.
Dawid and Anna Jackiewicz have two sons: Natan, seven years old, and Sambor, of a few months.
