Umarga is a city and a municipal council in Osmanabad district in the Indian state of Maharashtra.

Geography

Umarga is located at coord|17.83|N|76.62|E| [ [http://www.fallingrain.com/world/IN/16/Umarga.html Falling Rain Genomics, Inc - Umarga] ] . It has an average elevation of 572 metres (1876 feet).

Demographics

As of 2001 India census [GR|India] , Umarga had a population of 30,183. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Umarga has an average literacy rate of 67%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 75%, and female literacy is 58%. In Umarga, 15% of the population is under 6 years of age.
