Tundla ( _hi. टुन्डला) is a city and a municipal board in Firozabad district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

Geographic

Tundla is located at 27.2° N 78.28° E [1] . It has an average elevation of 168 metres (551 feet). Tundla is 24 km away from the city of Taj, AGRA. Moreover Tundla is having a rich heritage of British rule, high walled British constructions, huge Barracks, Catholic church built in 1887, kothis of officers surrounded by sprawling lawns ,displays TUNDLA as the main center of British during there regime and world war I,II. Tundla is a small town with very rich culture. It is enriched with old and beautiful british buildings which are now converted into railway quarters.

Tundla has produced several eminent personalities in the recent years,including Bollywood actor Raj Babbar, internationally known energy journalist and TV commentator Narendra Taneja and mathematician Dr B L Sharma and Seth Lal Jain ,leading businessman since British period and Chairman Bhagwan Swaroop Jain developed the town during his regime.It is a major centre of milk productio

Demographics

As of 2001 India census [GR|India] , Tundla had a population of 40,336. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Tundla has an average literacy rate of 72%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 78%, and female literacy is 66%. In Tundla, 14% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Education and the town

Tundla is a small, peaceful town, situated in the heart of Uttar Pradesh. It is basically a small town situated sideways of a five kilometers km stretched road. Unlike big cities, it boasts of its pollution free environment and greenry. Tundla's general population is engaged in small businesses which they operate from shops or their homes.

Its literacy level is better than the states average literacy rate. Although the town has only five old established schools namely

N.R.Inter College is the oldest institute established in the town. It dates back to the British rule. It has been providing quality education to the town from the date when India became a free nation.

There is a Pavitra Marriage Hall Which is situated on the NH-2 Opposite to Mommadabad. This is the biggest marriage Hall in Tundla which is having all facilities including AC rooms.,
