In 1987 Sardulgarh had increasingly high volume of bomb blast and killing of non Sikhs who did not wear turbans by militants who wanted a separate homeland called Khalistian. From 1982 to 1992 there were about 6,000 people killed in Sardulgarh because there weren't wearing turbans, or they were against Khalistian.
