Pendra is a town and a nagar panchayat in Bilaspur district in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh.

Geography

Pendra is located at coord|22.77|N|81.95|E| [ [http://www.fallingrain.com/world/IN/37/Pendra.html Falling Rain Genomics, Inc - Pendra] ] . It has an average elevation of 592 metres (1942 feet).One old gadhi(fort) and Durga mandir are famous places of Pendra.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census [GR|India] , Pendra had a population of 12,392. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Pendra has an average literacy rate of 70%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 78%, and female literacy is 63%. In Pendra, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.
