Mallasamudram is a panchayat town in Tiruchengode Taluk, Namakkal district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The Panchayat Union has a Block Developmernt Officer (Ph.: 04288-238 144) and an Asst. Engineer, Electricity Board: 110 KVSS (Ph.: 04288-238153).

Mallasamudram is about 25 km from Salem on the Salem - Tiruchengode Road, via Attayambatti. The major occupation of the people is textiles (mainly, weaving), followed by agriculture. The gada, dhothis and towels are some of the famous products of the village; these are being promoted by the Tamil Nadu Export Promotion agency. There is a famous Shiva Temple, "Soleeshwaran", of the Chola Era. The weekly shandy held each Wednesday, attracts the villagers from nearby areas such as Sooryakoundampalayam, Ramavaram, Kollapatti, Vaiyappamalai, Kalipatti etc. There are Elementary, Primary, Secondary as well as Higher Secondary Schools in Mallasamudram. Mallasamudram also has an Engineering College: Mahendra. The Bharat Matriculation School (Middle) and Sri Ramakrishna Matriculation School (Middle) are the Secondary Schools. The Aided Elementary School, Kalipatty; Panchayat Union Elementary School, Mallasamudram; Panchayat Union Elementary School, Krukkalam Palayam; Panchayat Union Elementary School, Kottai Medu; Panchayat Union Elementary School, Venkadesa Puri; Panchayat Union Elementary School, Harijan Coloney; Panchayat Union Elementary School, Kalipatty; Panchayat Union Elementary School, Koliapatty Panchayat Union Elementary School, Nanduvanam are the Primary Schools at or near Mallasamudram.

In Mallasamudram, 10% of the population is under 6 years of age.
