The List of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the United Kingdom is a list of sites designated by the
UNESCO asWorld Heritage Site s in theUnited Kingdom .The UNESCO list contains seventeen designated properties in
England (one joint withGermany ), four inScotland , two inWales , one inNorthern Ireland and three inBritish overseas territories . Some designated properties contain multiple sites that share a common geographical location or cultural heritage. Twenty-two properties are designated as "cultural", one as "mixed" and four as "natural" sites.The listed properties are designated "cultural" sites unless noted, and are ordered by date of inscription. All years of first and subsequent designations are given.
