As the Shadows Rise is an EP by Norwegian black metal band Emperor. It was later rereleased on compact disc as part of the True Kings of Norway split album with Immortal, Dimmu Borgir, Ancient and Arcturus.

The cover art is a woodcut by Gustave Doré (1832-1883). Other bands, including Dimmu Borgir, Season of Evil and Sovereign have used his work as well.
