- R132 road
The R132 is one of Ireland's newest
regional road s, having being classified following the opening M1 motorway which by-passes most of the old N1 route.By-passed sections of the old N1 were reclassified R132.
Route
(North to south: there are three sections to this route)
*(1) The R132 starts inDundalk at a junction with the N52 and the N1 and proceeds throughDunleer , and the uplands ofMonasterboice ,County Louth .
*(2) It continues on throughDrogheda ,Balbriggan , and Swords before terminating at a junction with the N1 in Whitehall.
*(3) There is a stub section of the former N1 BY-Pass of Dunleer linking the R132 to the M1 Mooremount partial interchange (M1/R170), which was built in the first phase of the M1 project (1991-1993), was downgraded toRegional Road status in 2001 with the completion of the Dunleer-Dundalk section of the M1 Motorway, and was re-designated as the R211.ee also
