South East Queensland Regional Plan
- South East Queensland Regional Plan
The South East Queensland Regional Plan (SEQ-RP) is a document designed to guide regional growth and development in South East Queensland, Australia, between 2005 and 2026. It is accorded force of law under the "Integrated Planning Act" 1997 (Qld), as a "state interest" planning document, and contains many regulatory provisions. The plan focuses upon the need to regulate and manage population growth, guide the expanse of urban sprawl and protect natural greenbelt areas.
The plan and its regulatory provisisons are administered by the Office of Urban Management.
Regional land use patterns
The plan divides regional land uses into several categories:
*Regional Landscape & Rural Production Area - identifies land to be protected from inappropriate urban encroachments by residential and other development
*Urban Footprint - identifies the land necessary for urban expansion and development and covers existing and greenfield areas
*Rural Living Area - identifies both rural residential development under local government planning schemes and further of such possible developments as are permitted
*Investigation Area - identifies at present nine possible areas in the region that may be potentially available in the long term for future urban development
*Mount Lindesay/North Beaudesert Study Area (MLNB) - a particular study area south of Brisbane also identified as an investigation area
