South East Queensland Infrastructure Plan and Program
- South East Queensland Infrastructure Plan and Program
The South East Queensland Infrastructure Plan and Program (2006-2026) (SEQIPP) is a $A66 billion plan for infrastructure investment in South East Queensland, Australia over the next 20 years. The Infrastructure Plan is a key component of the regional planning process in SEQ and outlines the Queensland Government’s infrastructure priorities to support the South East Queensland Regional Plan.
The Plan details future investment in transport, water, energy development, information and communication technology and social and community infrastructure. Funds are also allocated for further investigations into other infrastructure projects, such as the TransApex tunnels. The Plan is principally concerned with transport infrastructure, and outlines approximately $27.7b worth of future transport infrastructure projects to be delivered in the region.
The Infrastructure Plan has been widely lauded by business groups and members of the public, but has also been criticised in the apparent lateness of some projects being delivered.
The Plan is produced by the Office of Urban Management within the Department of Local Government, Planning, Sport and Recreation. The Plan was first released in 2005 and is reviewed and updated annually as part of the state budget.
