radio network ofBulgaria . It was founded on30 March 1930 as "Rodno radio" ("Native radio") by a group of intellectuals. Broadcasting began in June the same year. OnJanuary 1 ,1993 , BNR was admitted as a full active member of theEuropean Broadcasting Union .BNR has two
radio station s in Bulgarian, "Horizon Radio " and "Hristo Botev ", as well as a world service called "Radio Bulgaria " broadcasting in 11 languages: Bulgarian, Russian, English, German, French, Spanish, Serbian, Greek, Albanian, Turkish and Arabic). All stations are also available online. There are five more local radiostations in the BNR structure: Radio Plovdiv [http://www.radioplovdiv.bg/] , Radio Varna [http://www.radiovarna.com/] , Radio Shumen [http://www.radioshumen.net/] , Radio Stara Zagora [http://radio-sz.net/] and Radio Blagoevgrad [http://radiobl.com/] .On May 26, 2008 RPTS of Kostinbrod in Bulgaria started the first regular broadcasts in digital format DRM (Digital Radio Mondiale)External links
