The separation of the right atrialpectinate muscle from thesinus venarum is indicated externally by a groove, the terminal sulcus (sulcus terminalis), which extends from the front of thesuperior vena cava to the front of theinferior vena cava , and represents the line of union of thesinus venosus of theembryo with theprimitive atrium .
