Saddle River Day School is a non-profit, non-discriminatory, coeducational, college-preparatory independent day school, located in Saddle River, in Bergen County, New Jersey. Its student body of 307 boys and girls is drawn from 64 communities in Bergen, Essex and Passaic Counties in New Jersey and Rockland County in New York.

The school was founded in 1957 and graduated its first senior class in 1960. Saddle River Day School is composed of three divisions: the Lower Division, the Middle Division and the Upper Division. In 1966 it received accreditation from the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, and is also accredited by the New Jersey Department of Education. Curriculum

Saddle River Day School is known for its rigorous academics as well as its wide range of class offerings and small class sizes.Fact|date=April 2008 The Lower School is noted to have a particularly challenging curriculum for students, offering language teaching starting in Kindergarten and all other subjects in an integrated style.Fact|date=April 2008 The Upper School offers Advanced Placement exams in the following areas: English, United States History, European History, French Literature and/or Language, Latin, Spanish Literature and/or Language, Calculus AB and BC, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry. Students are required to take foreign languages K-12.

Of note is Saddle River Day School's Theater Program, which produces a fall play and a spring musical each year.

Athletics

The schools' main sports teams (baseball, softball, basketball, track, golf, soccer, volleyball, tennis) play in the Patriot Conference of schools in Bergen, Passaic, and Essex counties. After a decision by the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association in February 2008, both Hawthorne Christian Academy and Saddle River Day School will be added into the Olympic Division of the Bergen County Scholastic League starting as of September 2008. Their Middle School Soccer team was undefeated 2006-2007 school year.
