Supernova
In 2002, Jessica met Stuttgart's dance producer Felix Gauder and they formed Novaspace. Their first single "Time After Time" (a cover version of Cyndi Lauper's 1984 hit-single "Time After Time") released in the first half of 2002 reached number 6 on the German single chart.[1] After gaining enough success with the single at home, Novaspace also entered the Top-20 single charts in Austria (number 7) as well as in Australia (number 15).[2] "Time After Time" charted moderately in Switzerland peaking at only number 67 and number 28 in the Netherlands.[2] Almost a year later, the single even appeared on the single chart of UK which eventually peaked at 29.[3] Their second single "To France", a cover version of Mike Oldfield's 1984 hit single "To France" (featuring Maggie Reilly) was released not long after the first single and reached number 27 in Germany [1] and number 23 in Austria.[4]They separated themselves from one-hit-wonders; however, when their third single "Guardian Angel" hit the stores in December 2002, which was a cover version of Masquerade's 1983 number 1 hit single "Guardian Angel". The single reached number 9 in Germany in January 2003 [1] and peaked at number 11 in Austria.[5] Their full length material entitled Supernova was released in January 2003. The album which comprised cover versions of hit-singles originally done earlier by numerous acts from the 1980s managed to reach number 28 at their home [1] and 39 in Austria.[6] Novaspace released one more single off their album Supernova called "Paradise" which only managed to reach number 48 in Germany and 41 in Austria.
Cubes
In 2003, Novaspace started things off with the single called "Run to You", a cover version of Bryan Adams' 1984 song "Run to You". This single from their second album entitled Cubes charted moderately peaking at number 38 both in Germany[1] and Austria.[7] The album "Cubes" which contained cover versions of earlier hit-singles originally performed by different artists reached number 27 in Germany and number 24 in Austria. The second single "Beds Are Burning" released a few months prior to the release of the album was a cover version of Midnight Oil's 1988 hit Beds Are Burning, it climbed as high as number 7 at their home[1] and peaked at number 2 in Austria but only managed to peak at number 42 in Switzerland.[8] The third single "So Lonely" entered the Top-20 single chart in Germany peaking at number 15 and number 10 in Austria, the single did quite poorly in Switzerland peaking at only number 87.[9] The fourth single "Dancing with Tears in My Eyes", a cover version of an Ultravox's hit single "Dancing with Tears in My Eyes" charted well in the home of Novaspace eventually reaching number 11 on the single chart[1] but was quite unsuccessful elsewhere charting only at number 98 in Switzerland.[10]
DJ Edition
In 2006, Novaspace released their third album called DJ Edition which was a collection of their previous singles in a reworked format including one new track called "Send Me an Angel" (cover version of Real Life's hit single). The album which managed to chart only in Germany peaking at number 68 in the German album chart saw a release of only one single "All Through the Night", a redone version of a track previously featured on the album "Cubes". The single peaked at number 50 in Germany but failed to enter the charts elsewhere. The album also featured a DVD containing the videos of all the singles: "Time After Time", "To France", "Guardian Angel", "Paradise", "Run To You", "Beds Are Burning", "So Lonely" and "Dancing With Tears In My Eyes".
