"Priscileo roskellyae ""Priscileo" ("Ancient Lion") was the basal-most
genus ofThylacoleonidae . Fossils of this genus have been found inOligocene andMiocene strata ofSouth Australia andQueensland . It was about the size of apossum and was less powerful than the othermarsupial lion s. The two species have crushing molar teeth (as inomnivorous kangaroo s) as well ascarnassial blades (large, flesh cutting teeth derived from the first lower molar and last upper molar). The Early Miocene species of "P. roskellyae" may have been anarboreal species.References
