Dakahlia Governorate (Arabic: ‏محافظة الدقهلية‎ Muḥāfaẓat al Daqahliyya) is an Egyptian governorate lying north east of Cairo. Its area is about 3,500 km² and it has a population of about 5 million. The capital is Mansoura.
