In 1955, the runway of the nearby
airport was converted to an automobilerace track called Harewood Acres. In its time, it was one of the premiereroad race courses inNorth America . In 1970, the site was sold to an oil company and turned into arefinery , which remains there to this day. Jarvis is home of the famous annual summer Cornfest. In 2007, the Canadian bandBlue Rodeo performed live on stage.
