Melissa Mandak

Melissa Mandak (born 1981) is a beauty queen who won the title Miss Connecticut USA 2005. Mandak served as the weekday morning traffic reporter on NBC Connecticut until leaving in 2011 to work at Yale University^{[citation needed]} in the Health and Wellness field.

Mandak represented Connecticut in the Miss USA 2005 pageant held in Baltimore, Maryland in April 2005. The pageant was won by Chelsea Cooley of North Carolina. Mandak had placed second runner-up to Sheila Wiatr in the Miss Connecticut USA 2004 pageant a year prior to winning her state crown.

Mandak was born and raised in Honeoye Falls, NY and graduated from Rutgers University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism and mass media. At the time of her pageant win she was working as a real estate ageant. She has also appeared as an extra in the recent “Stepford Wives” motion picture.

Mandak crowned her successor, Jeannine Phillips, in November 2005.

Mandak worked as a traffic reporter for Metro Networks in Hartford,CT.

On Feb, 9th 2009 She started doing traffic reports for WNYW FOX5's Good Day New York

On July 5th, 2010 Mandak began reporting the morning traffic for WVIT NBC Connecticut News Today, weekday mornings starting at 5am.
