Brooks briefly emerged from retirement in late 2005 to record the upbeat "Good Ride Cowboy", shortly after the death of singer Chris LeDoux. It should be noted that there are two slightly different versions of this song. The first version appears on The Lost Sessions as included in The Limited Series box set. The second version appears on The Lost Sessions as a separate release and on The Ultimate Hits. The difference is in the first verse where the line "came an air-force brat" was accidentally written and recorded on the first version as "...navy brat".
