Nesjø (or Nesjøen, [The suffix "-en" is a form of the Norwegian language definite article and means "the". Hence " Nesjøen " is equivalent to "the Nesjø." Both forms can be found in English language text.] ) is an artificial lake (reservoir) in the Nea-Nidelv watershed which lies in the Sylan region of Tydal municipality in Sør-Trøndelag. Trondheim Energiverk was given the concession for hydroelectric generation in 1968 and completed the dam in 1971. Upon completion of the Nesjø, which joined with the Esandsjø, a reservoir of about 340 million m³ was formed. Nesjøen has a total watershed feeding it of about 712 km².
