services=Fenway is a stop on the D branch of the
MBTA Green Line. It is located in theFenway-Kenmore neighborhood of BostonMassachusetts , under Park Drive nearThe Riverway . Contrary to the name, this stop is not the closest stop toFenway Park . Despite this, it was popular during Red Sox home games through the 2006 season due to the free outbound trips to Riverside not found at the closer Kenmore station. It is unclear if Fenway station will still be used heavily during Red Sox home games beginning in the 2007 season, as the free outbound trips have been eliminated with the MBTA rate increase as ofJanuary 1 ,2007 .In June, 2007, the MBTA started construction of a new siding at Fenway station to assist with the loading and unload of Fenway Park passengers.
