San Lorenzo Valley

San Lorenzo Valley

The San Lorenzo Valley is a region of Santa Cruz County, California, colloquially known as "SLV". At one time a center of the logging industry of California, it is now home to millions of Sequoia Sempervirens. It contains the towns Ben Lomond, Felton, Brookdale and Boulder Creek, through which runs Highway 9 and the San Lorenzo River, down through the Santa Cruz Mountains into the city of Santa Cruz. Much of the river valley is rural and wooded. At its northern end, it abuts Big Basin Redwoods State Park.
