The Symphony No. 39 in
G minor (Hoboken 1/39) was written in 1767 or 1768 byJoseph Haydn .This is one of Haydn's earliest minor key symphonies, placing it early among his "
Sturm und Drang " works (such as the "Symphony No. 45"). The symphony was influential and inspired later G minor symphonies byJohann Baptist Vanhal ,Johann Christian Bach (Op. 6, No. 6) andWolfgang Amadeus Mozart (No. 25). The work is in four movements:
*I. Allegro assai
*II. Andante
*III. Menuet
*IV. Finale: Allegro di moltocoring
It is written for an orchestra consisting of two
