Strogino ( _ru. Строгино), formerly known as Ostrogino ( _ru. Острогино)Fact|date=August 2007, is a district in
North-Western Administrative Okrug ofMoscow ,Russia , located on the right bank of theMoskva River . An eponymousMoscow Metro station Strogino on theArbatsko-Pokrovskaya Line was opened here onJanuary 7 ,2008 .The district is named after an extinct village and known to have existed since the early 17th century as an estate of the
Romanovs and later theNaryshkin family. Strogino was engulfed by Moscow in 1960 and became a popular summertime venue thanks to its beaches. In the 1970s, the construction ofapartment building s in the area was started, and amicrodistrict was built. Stroginsky Boulevard ( _ru. Строгинский бульвар) is the main artery of Strogino.Soviet
