European Festival of Youth Choirs
- European Festival of Youth Choirs
The European Festival of Youth Choirs ("Europäisches Jugendchorfestival, EJCF") is a triennial international festival for youth choirs mainly from Europe. It will be held next time in 2010 in Basel. Earlier years include 1992, 1995, 1998, 2001, 2004, 2007.
The event is at the highest level with choirs from all parts of Europe. The first guests came from South Africa, and in 2004, the Youth Choir Santa Cecilia has come from Riversul (São Paulo state, Brazil). No contest is included. The host choir is the Basel Boys Choir, whose former conductor Beat Raaflaub was an artistic counselor of the festival's presidency.
