Mark Kelly (bassist)

Mark Kelly (bassist): Mark Dean Kelly (born June 28, 1956 in Enid, Oklahoma) is a Christian bass guitarist most remembered for being a member of Christian rock band Petra during the 1980s. Kelly joined Petra in 1981 and recorded seven albums with them before retiring in 1987.

In 2000, he assisted with his former bandmates and current Petra band members to the band's induction in the Gospel Music Hall of Fame.

In late 2010 the core original members of the 1980s Petra lineup announced they were going back in the studio to record a new album and embark on a world tour. Mark Kelly is now back as bass player with this lineup (now called "Classic Petra") along with Bob Hartman, Louie Weaver, Greg X. Volz, and John Lawry.
