village inBuckinghamshire ,England , near the village ofSteeple Claydon .Originally named after a wealthy local family, the village was founded as a hamlet in the
Victorian era to house workers for thebrick works that were constructed in the area. The works have since been closed and turned into anature reserve andlandfill . All that remains of the hamlet is a small group ofred brick terrace house s.Today a new
housing estate has been built called Calvert Green, greatly expanding on its original size. Calvert Green is also a newly createdcivil parish withinAylesbury Vale district.There is also now a sizeable
lake in Calvert called Grebe Lake, that is used forboating ,sailing andkayak ing.A sizeable
landfill site exists at Calvert. Waste is collected fromBristol and Bath and London each day and transported using rail via Aylesbury to Calvert.
