KGHP-FM (89.9, 89.3, 93.7), is a student-run high school radio station operating on a non-commercial license in Gig Harbor, Washington. Owned by the Peninsula School District #401, the station's studio is located on the campus of Peninsula High School. The station's signal covers most of Gig Harbor, Key Peninsula and portions of Tacoma.

The station came on the air in 1988 and was one of three high school radio station in the state of Washington. The first manager and teacher was Don Hofmann, a former KNBQ-FM general manager. KSTW-TV technician Max Bice was the engineer.

The multi-format station is run by students at Peninsula High School and Gig Harbor High School during the day, and in the evening to night hours it is run by community volunteers. The following students who run the station during school hours: Ross "The Boss" Martin, Jake Hohbein, Lance "The Bouncer" Wallwork, Jet "The Amish Thug" Moore, Alex "Benzy" Benzegala, Brett Roswell, Donovan Torres, Casey Chakos, Steven "Stevo" Spurling, "Mrs." Derek Grannes, Gabby Fiano, Roman Popkav, and Taylor "the Boar" Fleming. Of these students, their DJ names vary from their personality flaws (Amish Thug), to the impersonations they can make (The Boar), to simply fun spins on the student's names (Stevo). All these students follow the mentoring of instructor Leland Smith and the station manager who is only known by the name "the Walrus." The station gives a variety of shows from the students which range from sports broadcasts to the best Classic Rock songs of the 70s, 80s, and 90s. But the student's title track seems to be the The Final Countdown by Europe. This song also brings a very humorous feud between two particular students Taylor "The Boar" Fleming and Jett "The Amish Thug" Moore. In which the Boar is for and the Thug couldn't be more against.

A variety of genres is played, including Jazz, Blues, Reggae, Roots & Americana, Classic rock and vintage music. As the station is also an educational tool for the students, KGHP also runs news briefs and fact segments, at various times throughout the day, along with taking requests via the phone. The station also provides emergency information during power outages and severe storms, and natural disasters.

Among these students, Ross the Boss, Lance the Bouncer, Jet the Amish Thug, and Fleming the Boar are major players in the radio mythology known as radiology. The Walrus is the higher god, (station manager) which no mere mortal can question his authority. Under him are the four gods, the Boss= watches over the mortals of KGHP, The Bouncer= guardian of the station, the Amish Thug= in charge of the sports cast, and the Boar= creator of sounds. Ross the Boss watches over the humans inhabiting KGHP and makes sure they are following directions of the Walrus. He directs and helps the mortals do their daily tasks. When these workers do not follow their orders, Lance the Bouncer is called forth. The Bouncer is the guardian of the station. He protects and regulates the people in and around the KGHP radio station. Although he is fun loving, he can flip like a light switch and throw people out of the station. He makes sure the peace is kept and also acts as a referee when the Boar and the Amish Thug fights over the topic of the song...'The Final Countdown'. Jet the Amish Thug is the expert of live sport broadcasting. He broadcasts at all the local games live and when not working, he helps out around the station...or pick fights with the Boar and complains about the song, 'The Final Countdown'. Fleming the Boar is the creator of the sounds. His speciality is the pig noises but has a great varity of different noises. One is the Walrus noise that he uses to entertain the Great Walrus.
