Exeter station

There are seven railway stations in the city of Exeter. The main stations are:

*Exeter St Davids - the main intercity station, however it is on the northern edge of the city some way from the city centre.
*Exeter Central - most local services call at this station as well as trains to London Waterloo; the station is located a 5 minute walk from the city centre.

The suburban stations are:
*Exeter St Thomas - suburban station serving the St Thomas and Haven Banks areas of the city. Served by local services to Paignton
*Pinhoe - suburban station serving the suburb of Pinhoe on the eastern edge of the city. Served by services to London Waterloo
*St James Park - serves Exeter City F.C.'s ground and student areas. Served by local services to Exmouth
*Polsloe Bridge - serves the Whipton area of the city. Served by local services to Exmouth
*Digby & Sowton - serves the Digby housing developments and Sowton Industrial Estate. Sowton village is approx 3 miles by road. Served by local services to Exmouth

In addition Topsham railway station could be classed as one of Exeter's stations, as it is within the city administrative area. However, Topsham is usually considered a separate town, despite development joining it to Exeter.
