subdivision = "Serrivomer" "Stemonidium" See text for species. Sawtooth eels are a family, Serrivomeridae, of eels. They get their name from the saw-like arrangement of their vomerine teeth (inward-slanting teeth attached to the vomer bone in the roof of the mouth).

There are eleven species in two genera:
