The Perryville Railroad Bridge carries CSX's Philadelphia Subdivision across the Susquehanna River between Havre de Grace, Maryland and Perryville, Maryland. It was originally built as a single-track bridge by the Baltimore and Philadelphia Railroad. The bridge crosses Garrett Island in the Susquehanna, which was named after John W. Garrett, former president of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad (B&O).
While rebuilding it to double-track in 1908, one span collapsed due to a freight derailment. The B&O was forced to detour trains over the Pennsylvania Railroad between Perryville and Oakington until 1910, when the bridge was double-tracked and returned to service. The second track has since been removed.
