Digipass

Digipass
VASCO Digipass Go3

Digipass is a security product from VASCO Data Security International, providing strong user authentication and digital signatures via small security tokens carried by users, or in software on mobile telephones, portable devices or PCs. It is compatible with more than 50 international vendors for a variety of e-commerce, e-banking, e-networking and e-government applications.

It uses time and/or challenge based two-factor authentication and can be used to sign electronic transactions. It was invented in 1989 by Dominique COLARD from Belgium.

The Digipass series comes with:

  • a single button, or
  • multiple buttons for PIN entry and data input (e.g. challenge or transaction information)

The Digipass Go 6 device can be used to provide secure login authentication by players of MMORPGs like Final Fantasy XI,[1] Final Fantasy XIV, and World of Warcraft.[2]. HSBC (in the UK and Armenia at least) use Digipass devices to allow access to customers' online banking accounts.
