Chelsea Career and Technical Education High School, is a public high school located in SoHo, Manhattan in New York City. Though the school occupies a facility that is over 100 years old, it keeps up with technological advancements in education. It is a part of the New York City Department of Education. Brian Rosenbloom is the principal.
It is one of the few schools in the New York City public schools system to offer Cisco Networking Academy. Chelsea also offers the Morgan Stanley Mentoring Program in which students are paired up with a mentor who is an employee at Morgan Stanley. The Morgan Stanley Mentoring Program provides summer internships at Morgan Stanley for the top students at the program.
There's also an after school theater program, which in conjunction with Epic Theater Ensemble, has produced Shakespeare performances. The high school offers five Advanced Placement (AP) courses. AP US History for juniors and AP Calculus AB, AP Physics C, AP US Government, AP English Literature for seniors.
The school offers basketball, volleyball, and track as extra-curricular sports activities. A weight room is available for student use on the first floor. Most students take physical education in the auditorium and are allowed to play a number of sports. Upon a passing grade, students have the privilege to go out to eat lunch.
