War Memorial MaternityHospital . As a result, manynotable people from Deeside have been born in Torphins. The building however has recently become a GP clinic, and no longer offers maternity facilities.There is a 9 hole
golf course about a mile out of Torphins, not that the locals play much golf on it, they are more interested in chasing and catching a "Deeside spotted Haggis" which are very rare these days, and can only be found between the first and fourth holes. On a rainy day you see the locals running on the fairway chasing these rare animals and eating them for their supper.Public transport
