In the early 1990s, faced with a wattage increase at nearbyCFRU-FM in Guelph, CFMU upgraded to a 250 watt stereo transmitter, with a transmission tower originally located atChedoke Hospital . Presently transmitting from a tower atMohawk College shared with Mohawk's instructional stationCIOI-FM , the station can be heard throughout much of Hamilton and Burlington, although their vertically polarized signal means the station can be heard farther on car radios.Programs
