Our State-of-the-Art Network Platform

At the heart of Pacnet is EAC-C2C, our recently integrated state-of-the-art fibler optic submarine cable network spanning 36,800 kilometers between Hong Kong, China, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, the Philippines and Singapore. The integration of these two networks into a single system -- with dual landings and 33 PoPs (Points-of-Presence) in key markets -- marks a new milestone in the company's focus on strengthening its position as the region's leading provider of next-generation communications solutions.

Leveraging the combined EAC and C2C network not only puts Pacnet in a "pure play" position to accommodate the region's growth, but also lays the foundation upon which we are building our next-generation network with focus on service innovation and technology leadership.

The combined EAC and C2C network platform has a US$4 billion repalcement value with a retail value of US$10.3 billion in today's market. The integrated infrastructure also gives the company management flexibility while offering industry-leading infrastructure resiliency and enhanced route diversity and protection.

The integrated core network platform, currently being upgraded with GMPLS (Generalized Multi-Protocol Label Switching), will enable a new set of features such as meshed protection on on the optical layer, auto-provisioning, and optimized routing of traffic to support latency-sensitive applications such as video and IPTV. The combined EAC-C2C infrastructure also enables Pacnet to strengthen its PoPs and Cable Landing Station resilience through full interconnection between the two systems.

Unlike consortium cable systems with multiple owners and often contrasting interests, EAC-C2C is wholly-owned by Pacnet. Full ownership means we have full control of the network elements, allowing us to maintain the highest level of performance for our customers, which we back up with the industry's most competitive Service Level Agreements (SLA). For our customers, this means they are buying directly from the owner, and avoid the extra cost and complexity of purchasing through an intermediate vendor. Direct access to the network also means we can provision services faster, identify and fix problems quicker, and respond to customer requirements in real time.
