The Diocese of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island is a diocese of the Ecclesiastical Province of Canada of the Anglican Church of Canada. It encompasses the provinces of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island and has two cathedrals: All Saints' in Halifax and St. Peter's in Charlottetown. The synod offices are in Halifax.

History

The Diocese was created on 11 August 1787 by Letters Patent of George III which "erected the Province of Nova Scotia into a bishop's see" and these also named Charles Inglis as first bishop of the see.^[1]

• The Rt. Rev. Fred Hiltz: B. Sc. M.Div. D.D.was elected Suffragan Bishop of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island on October 6, 1994 and was consecrated on January 18, 1995. He was elected Coadjutor on November 9, 2001. He became Diocesan Bishop March 1, 2002. He resigned as diocesan bishop effective September 20, 2007 to become Archbishop and Primate of the Anglican Church of Canada.
• The Rt. Rev. Susan Moxley: graduated from the University of Western Ontario (B.A., M.A.) and the University of Michigan (M.A., Ph.D.) Atlantic School of Theology (M.Div.). She was ordained Deacon, June 29, 1984 and Priest, March 25, 1985. She was elected Suffragan Bishop, November 2003 and ordained bishop on March 25, 2004. She was elected Diocesan Bishop October 20, 2007, and Installed to that office on November 23, 2007.[1]
• The Rt. Rev. Ronald Cutler: He graduated from McGill University with a B.Th. He was elected Suffragan Bishop on May 23, 2008 and consecrated on June 29, 2008.[2]
