Frank P. Frary (
December 7 ,1856 –August 16 ,1911 ) was an American Republicanpolitician fromCalifornia .Frank Phineas Frary was born in
Fremont, Ohio and moved toSan Diego, California , in 1875. He owned a bee ranch at Capitan Grande, near El Cajon, and operated a stage line in San Diego County, including a mail contract between San Diego and Julian. He wasmayor of San Diego for two terms, during 1901–1905.In 1903 police raided Madam Ida Bailey's Canary Cottage, a house of prostitution in the Stingaree District however, the usual advance warnings were not made and the raid caught long-time customers Mayor Frary and the chief of police.
Frary's 1904 Craftman style home at 3227 Grim Ave in North Park is now a
bed and breakfast .References
