Guru Josh was a performer of the early 1990s British
acid house music scene. His most successful release was the 1989 single, "Infinity (1990s... Time For The Guru)".Guru Josh was an alias for Paul Walden, who began his career as an entertainer and keyboard player at the Sands
nightclub ,Jersey , performing under the name of Syndrone. Following the release of "Infinity", his debut single, Walden soon fell out of favour with the music press when hisalbum , also titled "Infinity", came out. It received mixed reviews. Notwithstanding , the album sold 900,000 units. Walden admitted in an interview that he was a supporter of the Conservative Party which was in power at the time. Guru Josh also released several other singles: "Freaky Dreamer", "Holographic Dreams", "Whose Law (Is It Anyway?)" (UK #5, Ger #1, Australia #1) (all from 1990) and "Hallelujah" (in 1991), although none of them proved to be anywhere near as popular as his first single. He had most success inEurope .In 1991 he moved into multimedia production creating the "Dance In Cyberspace" series of
music video s in collaboration with Darrel Jameson, Guy Labbé, Dave 'Flipping Mental' Evans, Marcus Pennell, and others.In 2001 the
noise music actV/Vm released mangled up versions of "Infinity" (subtitled "No Time For The Guru"), "Whose Law (Is It Anyway?)" and "Louie Louie" as a 7" single entitled "Infinity: The VVMCPS Abolish Copyright Anthem".He has recently created 3D glass art under the name "Louie Fabrix". This art was sold in small exhibitions in
New York ,Madrid ,Paris andBerlin receiving mixed reception from art critics. Walden created a website for his art (www.worksinglass.com).In 2007, he signed a new
recording contract under the name "The Guru Josh Project". In 2008, the single 'Infinity 2008' was released, a remake of the original from 1989.Discography
