Kentucky ,United States . Cannonsburg is generally considered a part of nearby Ashland, although Cannonsburg is not within Ashland city limits. Most of Cannonsburg shares its mailingzipcode with Ashland; however, parts are within the Catlettsburg mailing zipcode. Cannonsburg is a part of the Huntington-Ashland, WV-KY-OH,Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA). As of the 2000 census, the MSA had a population of 288,649.Education

Cannonsburg acts as one of three access points for
Interstate 64 , connecting the Ashland area toLexington, Kentucky andHuntington, West Virginia viaU.S. Route 60 and Kentucky State Route 180. Ashland's other access points are through Catlettsburg viaU.S. Route 23 , and Coalton via a two-lane section of US 60.Improvements
Currently, the Interstate 64/KY 180 interchange (Exit 185) is under renovation to improve safety and address traffic problems. The construction of a new diamond-shaped exchange is scheduled to be completed in fall of 2008. It was the site of up to an accident per week. Previously KY 180 was 2 lanes south of the interchange and 4 lanes north of it, with one southbound lane turning into the I64W merging ramp, with a separate turning lane at Flying J just to the south. Points of interest
The
Kyova Mall (formerly Cedar Knoll Galleria) is located in Cannonsburg. In May 2007, Phoenix Theaters opened a 10-screen stadium seating theater in hopes of the reviving the mall. The theater presently draws significantly more business than its nearest competitor in downtown Ashland. A super Wal-mart opened in 1998.External links
