Thurlby is called Thurlby by Bourne when there is a need to distinguish between it and
Thurlby by Lincoln or the hamlet of Thurlby in the parish ofBilsby , in theLincolnshire Marsh .Thurlby by Bourne is a
civil parish and village in the district ofSouth Kesteven lying between the parishes of Bourne andBaston , at gbmapping|TF095171. Most of the village lies to the west of theA15 road but a part, including theparish church is to the east. There is one public house, called the Horseshoe, located on the A15/High street junction. Geographically Thurlby is on the western edge of the Lincolnshire fens.Thurlby also has a hill, this hill is called Swallow Hill, on the hill there are many houses and up until around 1998, there was very little pavement near the top and people had to walk on the road. There is also a small estate with a 'private' road. This estate is called Swallow Heights.
