"Drawing Shapes" was the first EP by British rock band Morning Runner that they released with Parlophone. It was first released 23 May 2005 (see 2005 in British music).

The name of the EP came from inspiration the lead singer/guitarist Matthew Greener had after a "funny weekend". He said, "I was tired and you notice things that you don't normally notice ... I realised that everything was generally a square or a circle. And when you see the blueprints for a building or whatever, they're always made of lots of little boxes. This is our first EP, it's us drawing shapes."

The three tracks featured on the EP were also on the band's debut album, Wilderness Is Paradise Now.
