Oak Street 1000 North Location: Chicago From: 134 East To: 648 West Oak Street is a short street on Chicago's Gold Coast at 1000 North in Chicago's street numbering system, running from 138 east to 648 west in the Near North Side community area of Chicago in Cook County, Illinois, United States.[1] It ends without crossing the North Branch of the Chicago River. West of the river 1000 North is called Augusta Boulevard.

In its eastern part (between Michigan Avenue and Rush Street), Oak Street is one of Chicago's most prestigious shopping destinations. Unlike nearby Magnificent Mile, which features upscale chain stores and large department stores, it is known for its exquisite boutiques.
Further east it lies between Oak Street Beach and the East Lake Shore Drive Historic District.
Luxury stores on the street include Barney's New York, Geneva Seal Jewelers, Moncler, Pomellato Jewels, Vince, Piazza Sempione, Pratesi Linens, David Yurman, Hickey Freeman, Prada, Hermès, Tod's, Kate Spade, Jil Sander, Loro Piana, Furla, calypso, Jack Spade, Judith Ripka, Agent Provocateur, Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel, Juicy Couture, Luca Luca, Graff Diamonds, Harry Winston, Vera Wang, Wolford Boutique, Jimmy Choo, BCBG Max Azria, and Paul Stuart . There are also numerous high-end salons on Oak Street such as M Salon Chicago. It is also home to Birch Design Studios.[2]
