Griffith Park , the museum's primary collection focus is the history of railroad transportation in the western United States from 1880 to the 1930s, with a particular emphasis on Southern California and the Los Angeles area.The museum has numerous
steam locomotives and otherrolling stock on display, and some currently undergoing restoration. Visitors are permitted to climb into the cabs of several steam locomotives as well as some passenger cars and cabooses.A miniature train operates on the museum grounds.
