As of September 1, 2007, the entire line offers service during peak times only, with service from Don Mills Station to McCowan Road only. To access Unionville Station, passengers should get off at Enterprise Vivastation on Viva Purple or Viva Green and walk to the station, or take Viva Pink at peak periods to Unionville GO Station. Service east of McCowan Road to Markham Stouffville Hospital was to begin on July 1, 2007, but has been postponed to February 2008. Service east of McCowan Road to Cornell will replace the aforementioned service at a future date.

In the future, the Viva Green line could have full service restored if enough of Downtown Markham has been developed. However, service along the Highway 7 portion of the route could be eliminated. As the Markham North-South Link transit corridor, the Viva Green line will soon have its own dedicated transitway on the Warden Avenue portion of the route, and if service on Highway 7 remains, on most of Highway 7 as well, enabling VIVA buses to quickly pass through traffic. The line will also have 2 spurs from Denison Street south: one to Steeles Avenue on Warden, and the other to Don Mills Station. The Don Mills Station spur will have buses in mixed traffic. Eventually, the transitway portion of the route, possibly the entire line, will be upgraded to allow light rail transit on this corridor.

The list of stations are as follows, from northeast to southwest:

* York-Durham Line*
* Markham By-Pass*
* Bur Oak Avenue/Markham Stouffville Hospital*
* Ninth Line* (if future development warrants)
* Wootten Way*
* Main Street Markham*
* Galsworty Drive/Grandview Boulevard*
