MBTA Commuter Rail travels in a northeasterly direction towardBoston, Massachusetts fromFranklin, Massachusetts . Its stops include (in inbound order): Forge Park/495, Dean College/Franklin, Norfolk, Walpole, Plimptonville, Windsor Gardens, Norwood Central, Norwood Depot, Islington, Dedham Corporate Center, Endicott, Readville, Hyde Park, Ruggles, Back Bay andSouth Station . Most weekday trains do not stop at Hyde Park or Plimptonville, and no trains stop at these stations on weekends.The Franklin line was later extended to Forge Park/495 but the MBTA decided to keep the name of the line the same.
The line is sometimes referred as the Franklin/Forge Park line.
=Expansion=Plans had been discussed to expand the Franklin line to Hopedale Draper Mill. This is still in the planning stages.
